Run a fingertip along the rear seam of a fabric roof after a damp winter and it often comes away green. That film is algae, and moss is rarely far behind it. When to book, and how to look after the hood afterwards
Of everything we offer, this is the job that depends on the forecast. Reproofer has to cure on dry cloth, and that takes several rain-free hours. April and May, when humidity eases to 75%, are a good window, and so is September at 79%, before the air turns heavy again from October. A treatment then gives the fabric protection going into its hardest months. If showers look likely soon after your slot, we would rather move the date than waste the product on a hood that gets soaked.
In between, sweep leaves and twigs off the roof with a soft brush instead of leaving them to rot in place, and poke out the drain channels along the hood edge. Avoid roller car washes completely.
