Glass that looks fine after a shower, then dries to a speckled haze by lunchtime, is a familiar sight on a rural road. The rain is not really to blame; the dust and minerals it leaves behind are. We clean windows with purified water fed up a long pole, reaching first and second floor glass while standing on the ground. With no minerals in it, the water dries without spotting, and frames and sills get rinsed on the same pass.
As a mobile valeting business we also do car glass, inside and out, which reduces glare and misting. In Morley that sits alongside houses, conservatories and skylights. For a house, the cost depends on how many panes and storeys it has and the access, and the £20 starting price is for car glass. Conservatory roofs and skylights are priced once we know what is involved, so ask for a quote.
Larger homes, open ground and windows in Morley
Morley lies about five miles north-east of Derby on the A608, on the eastern side of Morley Moor, with Morley Smithy to the north. Houses in the wider Census 2021 area (LSOA) that takes in Morley, Little Eaton and Breadsall lean towards the larger end: 46.8% detached and 43.3% semi-detached, with only 6.4% terraced and 3.5% flats or other homes. In practice that means more glass per house, and nearly always a row of upstairs windows that is awkward to reach. A water-fed pole is made for exactly that kind of property, cleaning upper storeys from the lawn or path without ladders, and working over flower beds without trampling them.
Over an average year the village gets 808mm of rain across 146 wet days. Raindrops themselves are fairly clean; the marks come from dust, pollen and grime already sitting on the pane, which each shower spreads about and leaves behind as it dries. On open, rural ground there is no shortage of either dust or pollen. Tap water brings its own trouble, leaving lime rings, which is why a bucket and sponge job can look streaky the day after. Purified water has had those minerals stripped out, so the final rinse dries clear.

Window rounds around Morley Smithy and Morley Moor
We clean windows in Morley, Morley Smithy and the houses round Morley Moor, and out in Smalley, Stanley, Horsley and Breadsall. Morley falls in the DE7 postcode district. On a house job we need to get to the sides and back, so leave gates unbolted or tell us where a key is hidden. The pole works from ground level, so a little clear space beneath each window and an unobstructed path round the house both speed things up. Want the car glass doing too? Leave the car on the drive. Purified water and power come on the van, so no outdoor tap is needed.

How often Morley windows need attention
Many homes suit a clean every four to eight weeks. Houses beside open fields or busy lanes often need the shorter gap, especially in spring and late summer when pollen and dust peak. Conservatory roofs collect leaves and green growth through autumn, so a clean in late November, once the trees are bare, followed by another in spring, makes sense. Skylights behave the same way and are easy to forget, so look at them whenever the gutters are cleared.
Car glass is worth adding to the same visit. Morley's humidity climbs to 87% in November and 89% in December, and a greasy film on the inside of the windscreen makes misting far worse. Cleaning both faces of the glass reduces glare from low winter sun and lets the demister clear the screen faster. Resist wiping a fogged screen with a glove or the back of a hand, since that only spreads the film around.

"Best mobile car valet you can get in Derby. Honestly did a smashing job, went through every nook and cranny you can imagine and made sure it was all very well done. Lovely bloke as well."
Window Cleaning in Morley: Questions
No. The water-fed pole reaches first and second storey glass from outside at ground level, so there is no need to come in or prop ladders against the walls. We do need to walk round the property, so unlock any side gates before the visit. If you want the car's glass cleaned inside as well, we will need the keys or someone to open it.
No. Purified water is simply water with the minerals and impurities taken out, and there is no detergent in it. It rinses frames and sills without leaving residue, and whatever drips onto borders or beds below is harmless to plants. That makes it a good match for houses with planting right under the windows.
Light rain rarely stops us. Because the last rinse is pure water, the glass dries clear even if a few drops fall afterwards, and rain on its own leaves little mark on clean glass. With 146 wet days in a typical Morley year, holding out for a dry week is not always realistic. In heavy or stormy weather we would move the appointment.
