Grey streaks under every upstairs sill, and a haze on the bay window that shows up whenever the low winter sun hits it. Ordinary rain cannot fix that, because rainwater picks up dust on the way down and leaves it behind as it dries. A water-fed pole does. Purified water goes up through a soft brush, we scrub the glass and frames, then rinse, and because the water has no minerals in it, the glass dries clear.
Our base in Chilham is 16.6 road miles from Nuthall, about 22 minutes away, so homes here can go on a regular round. There is no call-out fee. We bring water in the van, so we never need your outside tap, and car or van glass can be added while we are there.
Old Nuthall, New Nuthall and a lot of upstairs glass
Detached properties make up 59.4% of homes in the small Census 2021 area (LSOA) at the centre of Nuthall, semis 32.4%, terraces 7.3% and flats a negligible 0.9%. Picture what that means in glazing: landing windows over stairwells, gable-end panes, porches, plenty of conservatories, much of it a genuine hazard from a ladder. Our telescopic pole reaches first and second storey frames with its operator standing on the patio, so the whole elevation gets cleaned without anything resting against brickwork or guttering.
The village also has its own geography. The A6002 divides Old Nuthall, towards Kimberley, from New Nuthall, towards Nottingham, and homes facing a busy road gather traffic film faster than those on quieter streets. Rain is frequent, at around 145 wet days a year, and each shower dries as spots. Pure water rinses those deposits off rather than adding more, which is why the result lasts longer than a bucket and squeegee with tap water.

Window rounds across Nuthall and nearby NG16 areas
Rounds cover Mornington, Horsendale, Larkfields and Hempshill, along with Cinderhill, Kimberley, Watnall, Strelley and Basford over the parish boundary, the lot sharing NG16. Rear elevations mean getting into the garden, so please leave side gates on the latch and mention dogs or padlocks. Our van waits on the drive or at the kerb, feeding the pole hose from its own tank. Small shops and offices can arrange a visit as well, by describing roughly how much glazing there is and at what height.

Practical window cleaning advice for Nuthall homes
A four to eight week cycle suits most Nuthall houses; homes beside the A6002 or the A610 may benefit from the shorter end. Late spring, after the pollen peak, and early autumn, before the damp months set in, are good times to ask for frames and sills to be done thoroughly as well. Move pots, bins and garden furniture away from windows and conservatory walls before the visit.
Light drizzle does not spoil a pure water clean, but high winds make the pole hard to control and blow spray around, so we will rearrange if conditions are poor. Between cleans, avoid household sprays on the outside of the glass, as they leave a film that attracts dirt. For car glass, clean the inside as carefully as the outside, because that inner film is what fogs up and glares on cold mornings.

Window Cleaning in Nuthall: Questions
Not usually. Everything happens outside using the pole, so provided the rear garden is reachable you can be at work. External panes, frames and sills are what get cleaned. If a gate is locked or a dog is out, let us know beforehand so the visit is not wasted.
Conservatory sides and frames are included in a standard clean. Roofs and skylights vary a lot in pitch and access, so please ask for a quote, ideally with a photo. We will tell you honestly whether the pole can reach and clean it properly from the ground.
Tap water carries dissolved calcium and other minerals, which stay on the glass as dots once the water evaporates, and washing-up liquid adds a sticky film. Purification strips those out. After scrubbing, a final pure rinse dries leaving nothing at all, and frames get flushed in the same pass rather than wiped with a grubby cloth.
