Mobile Window Cleaning in Ruddington

Why do windows look streaky a day after they were washed with a bucket and squeegee? Usually it is the minerals in tap water drying on the glass. For Ruddington homes we use water stripped of those minerals, pumped up a lightweight carbon pole to a soft brush. Panes, frames and sills get scrubbed and then rinsed, and because the rinse water carries nothing dissolved, it dries without leaving a trace. Upstairs glass is handled with both feet on the ground, and nothing ever rests against your brickwork.

Our van carries the purified water and the power to run the system, so we do not need your outside tap. Chilham, our base, is 15.5 road miles away and roughly 23 minutes by road, and we make no call-out charge. The business has a 5.0 Google rating, full insurance and over six years of experience, and we also clean car glass inside and out.

Ruddington homes, frequent rain and why pure water makes sense

Most homes in the 4 small Census 2021 areas (LSOAs) that make up the centre of Ruddington are houses with an upper storey: 31.7% detached, 36.3% semi-detached and 21.2% terraced, with 10.8% flats or other homes. Upstairs windows on detached and semi-detached houses are exactly what a water-fed pole is for, and many of these homes have side or rear glass that is awkward to reach any other way. Conservatories and skylights are common additions on larger houses too; for those we are happy to quote once we know what is there, as roofs vary a great deal in size and pitch.

Then there is the rain. Ruddington sees about 143 wet days and 757 mm of rainfall a year. Rain on its own is fairly clean, but it lands on dusty glass and dries into spots, and a film of tap-water residue gives it something to grip. Rinsing with purified water removes that film, so later showers tend to sheet off and the glass looks presentable for longer. On the terraces in the older parts of the village, a pole worked from the pavement is quick and tidy, and narrow front gardens or bay windows are no obstacle at all.

Window rounds in Ruddington, from Manor Park to Bunny

We clean windows across Elms Park, Manor Park, Wheatley Fields and Brook Hill, and in Ruddington Grange, Bradmore and Bunny, all within NG11. For the back of a house we need side or rear access, so please unlock gates and keep dogs indoors on the day. The van parks on your drive or at the kerb; hoses run only a short way. Business premises such as units at Ruddington Fields Business Park can be cleaned in the same way, and shop or office frontages are welcome too. If your gate code or side passage is awkward to describe, tell us when you book.

Keeping Ruddington windows clear through the year

Most homes are well served by a clean every four to eight weeks. In spring, pollen and tree debris build up fast on south-facing glass, and in autumn, falling leaves and the 83% to 88% humidity from October to December mean condensation inside and grime outside. Booking at the start of each season keeps on top of both. If your frames are white uPVC, ask us to give them extra attention, as green algae shows quickly on them in shaded spots.

Before we arrive, move pots and garden furniture away from the walls beneath the windows and close any open windows. Do not clean the glass yourself the day before with a household spray, as residue can leave smears when it meets pure water. Tell us about any cracked panes or loose seals, and if you would like your car's windscreen and windows done inside and out at the same visit, mention that when you book.

"My car was off the road for 11 months growing mould after the windows were smashed letting rain inside. They cleaned up all the glass and got the car looking brand new on the interior again within 3 hours."

Window Cleaning in Ruddington: Questions

No ladder is involved. The pole extends to first and second floor height while we stand on the path or lawn, brushing the glass and frames and then rinsing with purified water that dries clear. Working from the ground also suits windows tucked above a porch canopy or conservatory, where a ladder would be awkward or unsafe.

Much less than you might think. Purified water leaves nothing on the glass, so fresh rain has no dirt to stick to and usually runs off without leaving the spots you get after a conventional clean. Very heavy rain carrying dust can still mark glass, but a pure water clean holds up well.

Not automatically. Conservatory roofs and roof lights differ hugely, from a small lean-to to a large Victorian-style glass roof, so we price them individually. A quick photo, plus whether the panels are glass or polycarbonate, lets us say what is achievable from the ground and give you a figure before booking.
