What Happens If It Rains on Valet Day?

Rain rarely stops a mobile valet. Interior work is unaffected, much exterior work can continue, and we only suggest rescheduling if heavy rain would genuinely affect the results. A bit of British drizzle on the day is one of the most common worries customers have, but it is far less of a problem than people expect.

Interior work carries on regardless

If the valet is interior-focused, the weather makes no difference at all. Vacuuming, seat and upholstery cleaning, steam cleaning, trim and glass are all done inside the car, so rain outside is irrelevant. Many of our wet-weather bookings are interior deep cleans, mould removal and steam cleans that go ahead exactly as planned.

Exterior work in light rain

Light rain is not the obstacle it seems.

• The car is going to get wet during washing anyway.
• Washing, decontamination and cleaning continue normally in drizzle.
• We work methodically so the finish is not affected.
• Wheels, arches and shuts are cleaned regardless of weather.

When heavy rain matters

Persistent heavy rain mainly affects the finishing steps. Applying wax, sealant or other protection needs a reasonably dry surface to bond and cure, and drying the car to a spot-free finish is harder in a downpour. In those cases we may do the cleaning and reschedule the protection step, or suggest a better day if the whole job is exterior protection focused.

We keep an eye on the forecast and stay in touch. If the weather looks like it would compromise the results, we will let you know in advance and offer to rearrange at no hassle, rather than turning up and doing a job that will not last. Our aim is for you to get the finish you are paying for, so we would always rather move a day than cut corners.
